Cross Canada Blog Hop - April

In this month's Cross-Canada blog hop, we are sharing projects using the ShinHan Touch Twin Markers that Close To My Heart sells. There are 24 colours available, plus a blending marker.

Colouring is so much fun and the Shin Han markers are so vibrant and perfect for colouring in the clothes and hair of this cute little girl and boy from the School Kids stamp and matching thincuts. To make the girl's hair a strawberry blond colour, I used the Golden Yellow and the Marigold markers.

I had fun making several thank you cards for teachers.

I couldn't figure out what colour combo to use for the school. Which combo do you prefer?

The card front uses the woodgrain paper from Rustic Home Fundamentals cut to look like the gate of a fence. The sign is white daisy ink stamped on black cardstock.

Étampes en français

Close To My Heart vend une dizaine d'étampes en français. 

Ici j'ai utilisé 2 ensembles avec de l'encre noire sur de l'aquarelle. Dans la collection d'aquarelle, CTMH vend un ensemble de pinceaux, une palette d'aquarelle, trois pinceaux à recharge d'eau, ainsi que du papierpour aquarelle 12x12 qui est lisse et donne un beau fini lorsqu'on étampe dessus.

For this first card I applied a wet wash on the paper first before painting the colours from light to dark pink to give an ombré effect. Once the watercolour paint was dry, I stamped the sentiment and hearts from the Happy Heart - French stamp set (A1192F). This stamp costs only $9 - quelle aubaine !

For the following two cards I used the Happy to Be Friends - French stamp set (C1605F).  It is so versatile with sentiments that can be used for all sorts of occasions. This is a MUST have in everyone's stash.

For this pastel card, I did a wet wash on the paper first close to the paper's edge, then chose colours similar in muted intensity. I let the paint stripes overlap a bit and blend into one another making for a smoother transition.  Once the paint was dry I ripped the edges all around pulling paper towards me to reveal the core.

For the rainbow card, I painted stripes directly onto the dry paper, no blending, going for bold vibrant colour contrast. I also painted the same colour stripes on the silver shimmer trim. Once the paint was dry, I stamped the Bonjour in black ink.
